Maximum doses are conservative adult/paediatric references for infiltration and assume normal cardiac, hepatic and renal function; reduce in the frail, elderly, pregnant, or hepatically impaired. 1% solution = 10 mg/mL. Vasoconstrictor-containing solutions must not be used in end-arterial fields. Verify against your formulary and have lipid-emulsion rescue available. Always aspirate before injecting.
